Oh bless them! this is what companies condemn these poor things to, just to make a few bob!

they are about 18 months old and have been kept 5 in one cage so when we let them out in a stable about 13 x 13 feet they didnt know what to do i will keep them in there until their feathers grow back and the weather warms up then they will be free to roam with or other 4 hens and just shut up at night out of the foxes way
Oh Ruthann poor little scraps!!! Its awful isn't it?? I hope they start to grow feather s soon at the moment they must be struggling!!
I did not know that sheribee, i am going to boycott!
Battery farming should be banned chooks do so much better in wide open spaces!
Ruthann, the best indicator that they are picking up are there combs on top of there heads, and its a general indicator for a happy chook, if its red there happy if its pink and floppy the aint happy, Shy's (the landlords loner chook) is usually pail red, shes not an 'appy chook.
They have gone to a good home, i hope they pick up soon.
So glad they have found a loving home. Bless you Ruthann for caring.
Hi ruthann58.I buy my eggs from a animal rescue centre which has 12 hens and they are there for life,it's lovely to see them free and roaming about the centre.I pay alot more for them but well worth it, and the money goes to a very good course. The centre got 17 hens but alas 5 died from the conditions they were kept in.It's good to know there are people like you who do the right thing.g.
Poor little things but at least they will now have a good home with you. I would like some eventually but don't have the set-up as yet. When I do I will be asking for advice!
