If you know nothing about the cicatrin powder can you advise an antiseptic powder for this open wound which is "weeping" a bit - I have good ointment but I believe ointment never lets the wound "dry". I think the powders are good but I have to be careful as I am afraid of getting it infected.

savlon dry spray - you can buy it at chemist
I suggested the Savlon open wound wash....it really worked for me...also in Boots/Superdrug.
sorry-that should be *antiseptic* wound wash.....
