When I bend the fingers of my right hand and then 'unbend them' the little finger remains bent ans I have to unbend it separately Is there a reason for this?

Commonly called trigger finger. Both my mother and grandfather had it. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/trigger-finger/treatment/

Does anybody remember the 60's sci-fi show The Invaders? The only way the alien invaders could be told apart from normal humans was an inability to flex their pinkies properly.

Just sayin' ;-)
Thank you Mozz, I am not an alien though many may think that!
That's exactly what an hiding alien would say DTC lol

Update on my problem. Went to the doctor a week ago He wasn't able to inject my left hand to help the re-occurrence of my carpel tunnel syndrome and has referred me to the musculoskeletal clinic. He also recommended a splint in the mean time to wear at night as it keeps me awake. The clinic will decide whether to inject or operate. He did inject the trigger finger but it hasn't made a lot of difference so I'll go back to him in a week or two Thank you all for your help
