I didn't report your post, but probably would have done if it was not a question and i had seen it .. as i was discussing yesterday, this site is all about the q and a, not chats or keeping friends up with your personal ;ife. i know this view makes me unpopular, but i don't really care. - i like the q and a - i have other places i go for chat type stuff and the people that i want to update on my life have my msn/email I would guess that what you are saying is that it was an update on a previous post ... it might have been better posted within the original question where people who had replied/knew what you were talking about could see it?

I'm not horrible really, just have an alternate point of view

Kazza my post is now in people and places and it describes how a very knowledgeable and helpful aber may well have saved my son from blindness if not death, the SR thing was jealous and reported it after posting a trivialising response.

also i read an answer from dot.hawkes yesterday where she was defending the right of people to report questions that either dont fall into the category, or are not questions at all, so i dont really see how it can be classed as mean if there is a button specifically for reporting it?

Just pointing out that you have specifically made a name and shame post when you dont know the facts .... there might be other people who think like me, and reported it for being a non-question.
I seem to see the response a lot that it's poor form to use a post t o single out another user you have a grievance with

At least Dot's thread was about the health of her son. It at least matched the category, even if it wasn't an actual question. And to report a thread like that is very heartless, to be honest. Really just thoughtless and mean.

Kazza, Dot put a valid question on B&S, why should it be banned because of one silly user pressing the report button and the cr@p that some people post is able to stay.....sorry I think B&S has totally lost it's way.

i still cant understand why people can't allow someone else to have a different view without starting to call them names!.
I just don't see what is wrong with reporting posts that aren't in the right category, or aren't question, or are abusive, or sexually explicit (all of which are valid reportable reasons in the report this question list)
You are right, i have said the same things over two posts in the last 2 days, mainly because they were dealing with the same topics ... getting posts removed that aren't questions. I have actually answered about 23 questions today, and i certainly didn't say the same thing in all of them, being as that they were different questions.

Just because i don't agree with you, or know you, or are part of your group, there is no need to be going on about how i think i'm in charge! i don't , i'm just another ab user
