I am looking to move soon and after having a good dream, i decided to see if any of you ABers knew a good place to live.
Anywhere in the world.
Because i am traveling the world soon with my family and after that i'm looking to settle down somewere for a bit. Don't mind about price, if its under a million thats affordable. (Not trying to sound like an upperclass guy, but recently one some money on the old lotto.)
Anyone know of a nice place to live?

My 3 favourite places in the world are 1) Canada, Jasper or Vancouver, 2) South Africa or 3) Costa Rica. All 3 have amazing landscape, diverse wildlife and good weather. Failing that I like where I live now which is northern Lakes. Come to think about it I have all those things right here.

Neo, were is toon?
Thugulike, all three sound like nice places to live, but sometimes thinking about it you find you have evrything you need were you live already. Anyway, i must move because the area i live has been considered a health and saftey "potential danger zone" because there is a massive cliff near me and one day i was in the garden and a big boulder fell down.
hmm, Vancouver rains a bit (like Seattle) and Jasper can be under several feet of snow in winter. Costa Rica is pretty warm and sticky. I am told San Diego and Perth (Oz) are very pleasant year-round and would be high on my list. But I rate good weather highly and perhaps this doesn't matter to you, it's a personal thing
Peckham is always interesting.
Hi Dr Red I have family who live in Indonesia and they love it, they also tell me that Singapore is good. On the other hand some friends live in Spain and want to come back to the UK. I have often thought that I would like to live abroad but all things considered and even with all the problems that this great island of ours has at the moment I look out of my window at the green fields, the hills and valleys here on the edge of the Pennines and it is breath taking. Having said that your home is where your heart is and however nice the place where you live is it matters not a jot if you are not happy.

Says so on their website.

Personally, I love cornwall. Penzance and Plymouth particularly but they have sentimental value to me.
i would plumb for greece, wonderful friendly people and realy genuine, visit there often but alass like my seasons
A millionaire and too mean to buy an atlas, a likely story.
doc people are allowed there dreams
Greece has seasons, doesn't it, shanx: Long, settled, hoto summers, occasionally stormy autumns, winters cool and damp, sometimes even snow on lower ground, then all the wildflowers out in spring.
Having very little travel experience and being a native New Yorker, I always wanted to live in Manhattan. I would not like it forever, but would love to experience the "Big City" for a while. Of course the areas I would like to live in are waaaaaaay out my league financially. Rent for a small (and I mean small) studio apartment is about $2500+ per month. People from manhattan always seem to have this cool, bohemian thing going on. It would be an experience.
ain't it the truth, EngTeach. Yes, I'd love to live in Manhattan for a while too. But no blizzards, floods or heatwaves, thanks, and a lottery win would help.
I would suggest anywhere close to a non-functioning elevator, and don't forget your spanners!
Dont come to Devon, you wont like it..weve got no lifts...or poundstretchers...erm...they tell me derbys nice.....(:O)
I agree Vinny, I dont think he would like Devon, we dont like riff raff in this neck of the woods and no buildings high enough to warrant a lift!!
