Welcome Sophie I am sure you will get lots of tips from others but my plan is I eat healthily plenty of fish chicken plenty of veg with meals. Don't live on salads at every meal. Always make sure you have breakfast. I keep telling people to have a small glass of unsweetened grapefruit juice in the morning as that works for me. Shop so that you don't run out of ideas...

New to Onwards and Downwards; am starting to actively try and lose weight (instead of making vague promises) and started with the 2 bowls, 2 meals, 2 weeks thing (as described on the Special K Diet Plan thread) but as that made me miserable I'm on to salads for lunch and no crisps and biscuits. Have had a look at various diet plans and they all seem really big on seafood and cottage cheese; both of which I can't stand! Sorry to ramble; any tips for a first time dieter?

Always make sure you have breakfast. I keep telling people to have a small glass of unsweetened grapefruit juice in the morning as that works for me. Shop so that you don't run out of ideas what to have and if you write everything down what you eat it will help you to plan your following weeks meals. For me biscuits are out and very little bread as that is my downfall. If you want to have a treat have one as long as you follow on being good. You won't get through the week if you don't have the odd treat. If you have a lot of weight to lose just go for a small amout at a time the longer it takes to come off the better. If you are on any medication check that you can drink grapefriut juice it normally tells you. Good luck
Thanks wendilla! I always have breakfast as am usually hungry as soon as I wake up, would like to try the grapefruit thing but am on the pill; will just one glassof juice effect it at all? Have tried googling but haven't come up with v scientific websites! Bread and biscuits are definitely my downfall as well!

Good Morning All,
Just the same but relieved as I feared it would be the naughty step. We are going through so many out of house lunches and anniversaries which are featuring food definitely not on the how-to-loose-weight-list....only 3 left now and I am trying to eat less of the temptations.
Hopefully the rest of you will keep up your successes.

Morning Xstitcher after a good loss the last 2 weeks and still being good I have not lost this week. I have done nothing out of place and stayed the same. But will not let it disheart me. I was aiming for a loss however small every week then this happens. It just don't make sense .I have not even been out for any meals this week but will be going out for Sunday dinner so it will definately be no sweet. Will carry on and hope for a better result next week. Onwards and Downwards we go.
Done it! I've lost another 2lb this week and reached my second stone lost since the spring. Delighted, made up even!
I still have a long way to go but this acheivement is thanks to you all for being here and cheering me along the way.
I was so determined this week, I had nothing naughty at all and no meals out. I drank my grapefruit juice, had a breakfast and continued to reduce my portions. Being able to say "I really can't eat all that" is a new one on me, but I do feel that my stomach has shrunk a little which is great.
Good luck to everyone else this week, and "respect" to xsticher and wendilla.x
