This is Manx Queenie, moving on …

Having extolled the virtues of my homeland for two weeks, I have to admit that I have spent more time living away from the Isle of Man than I have on it. Having married a Cornishman, I lived in Cornwall for several years and my daughter was born and educated there until the death of my husband when we moved away from his Cornish family to my Manx one and Alexis completed her education on the Island, at the public school where she now works as PA to the Principal.

Life in Cornwall was in many ways idyllic. Other people came on holiday to the sea and the sand, but we actually lived there and I could take my little girl down to the golden sands of Perranporth every Saturday to paddle in the stream and build sandcastles. My husband and I ran a boarding kennels for a short time until his death. These kennels were very run down as they had been on the market for some time, nobody being willing to purchase them because of the Securicor dogs that were housed there. But my husband, loving German Shepherds, simply told me to ignore the end that barked and look at the end that wagged, before going into their cages and giving them a no-nonsense approach that had them eating out of his hand – quite literally.

My job was really to look after the cattery side of the business, as I came from a cat-loving family. Indeed, at one time we had no fewer than eleven cats at home, as the result of going on holiday for two weeks before the veterinary appointment to have two of our females spayed. Too late, when we returned the local tom had paid his annual visit and eight kittens (four to each female) was the result. Our older cat, plus our German Shepherd, didn’t know what had hit them, but I have several photographs of the soppy dog lying on the carpet with all eight kittens fast asleep on top of him.

After my husband died and the business was sold, my life moved on from Cornwall to Dorset, the Isle of Man, Portugal and now to Lincolnshire. But that’s another story.

According to normal practice, for the everyday running of MM, I shall follow this rule on word length, in that each of my pre-selected link words contains at least four letters and at most eight letters. Stray outside this range and you will be wasting one of your attempts!

Each of the selected link words may go in front of, or behind my challenge word.
The competition will officially close on Sunday Evening at 7.00pm, when gen2 will declare my pre-selected words and then apply the same rules for awarding points that have been applied during all MM Link Games in the past. My set of four words to have their links predicted should appear below at 9.00am.
Good morning, Manx Queenie.
After a poor start in Week 1, and a week away, I hope I can manage a point today. Doubt it, though.
Oh I don't know Aq, the subject matter seems to be right up the street of an old sea-dog like you looking out for cats-paws of wind!
