Hi
I'm doing some research on life insurance companies and am wondering if anyone out there has been declined life insurance due to an illness in childhood. I am an insurance broker myself and have been approached by several clients who this has happened to. These people have had serious illnesses in childhood but they have never affected them since being treated and therefore dont affect their lives currently. I have been speaking to some insurers regarding this but they seem to think that these are isolated cases.
I think that it will become a serious issue in the future as serious illnesses are now becoming treatable.
Please let me know if it has happened to you or you know anyone it has happened to.

It's not really answering your question but there are a few life assurance providers that will only ask medical questions relating to the last 5 years.

Surely this is a way around the issue?
