Programme on BBC1 at 21:00 tonight. I must say I'm surprised, given the heated discussions about "illegal immigrants" that take place on AB, that his admitting to being trafficked to the UK as a child has not been mentioned already:

I'm sure there are threads here on the issue.
not in the sports section there aren't.
He was a child and once again evil traffickers reaped the benefit from him and others as they do to the present day,, I only hope these rotten to the core people can see what a wonderful caring human being they sent to us although they’d see that as a ‘favour’ ,scum, all traffickers !
nothing on the issue if you key Mo Farah in the search box

he was lucky to arrive so long ago. If it had been more recently he'd have been in Theresa May's hostile environment; Priti Patel would ship him off to Rwanda. Instead, he, and Britain, have four Olympic golds to their name.

I wondered if it might affect his British citizenship (obtained in July 2000 under the name Mohamed Farah) but I see that Wikipedia reckons "a barrister told him that there was a risk that he might lose his British nationality as it was obtained by misrepresentations; the Home Office, however, assured him that he would not face any repercussions"

Well I know I've seen posts on it. No idea which thread they were hiding in.
One is allowed to call oneself what one likes. He's been officially Mo for ages now.
They're not going to kick out winning athlete and smiley, all round good egg now are they?

Who would tell us of the pros of Quorn, Weetabix and Oral-B if they did?
Did Mo really have a twin brother (who was supposedly left behind in Somalia)? Why hasn’t Mo set him up in Britain?
Why send Mo off for a ‘better life’ and leave the twins separated?

I must watch the documentary. Perhaps those questions will be answered.
I am a little sceptical of this story.
So his captors had a change of heart & let him go to school at 12 yrs old.
And his P.E. teacher helped him to become the athlete he is, lucky guy.
I too am surprised but this Sharon, I thought for years he had been telling people that he was sent to the UK for a better life by his mother but now he was really trafficked?
I will admit that I have not read too much into it but why come out and say this now?
I think he knew AB was getting bogged down with government and weather stories and needed a new one. :0))))) ;0)
I think maybe Mo's idea of being 'trafficked' differs a tad from what we perceive it to be.

The people trafficking Mo probably told his mother that they were going to give him a better life in Britain. I don't think she would have let him go otherwise.
