I am in the process of renewing my car insurance. I am the policy holder, but my daughter wrote off the car last year.
On comparison websites I am being asked for my details and whether I have had any motor accidents, claims or losses in the past 5 years, no matter who was at fault or if a claim was made?
The same applies when I enter my daughter's details.
I made the claim but it was my daughter who crashed. Do I say no for me and yes for her, or is it yes for both? Totally confused!!

If your daughter was driving your car as a named driver on your insurance policy, yes, you have had a claim. End of story.
It's your policy and you had a claim.

So to the question: 'Have you had any motor accidents, CLAIMS or losses in the past 5 years, no matter who was at fault or if a claim was made?" the answer is straightforward. The clue is in the wording.
