interesting link.
lets take it from a simple parking in front of mr and mrs average`s house. mr and mrs average paid the local council 300+ for the privelage of having the kerb lowered. but when the said mr and mrs average complain to the local plod and council, no one can be ar$ed to help them.....
now, just to be difficult mr and mrs average decide to park each of their cars across the council office`s private car park (but on the highway) and across the local police stations private car park. (again on the highway) how do you think the law would look at the situation ???
not picking at anyone here, just playing devils advocate.
Why do people post such asinine answers on here.
Only Local Authorities and the like are allowed to clamp a vehicle on the Public Highway.
It is in fact against the law to park on the road except in a designated parking place, but obvoiusly this would be very difficult to enforce.
It is obvoius that anyone with a reasonable amount of consideration would not park across someones driveway,
As asinine (what a lovely word I havent heard that for many a year!) as the answers to this particular topic may seem, Electrochem, they are not as stupid as you think.
In the earlier string kempie eloquently covered your point about it being illegal to park anywhere and the difficulty one would have in seeing that enforced. Your last remark is indeed pertinent. But the fact is that there are many, many drivers who are not in the least bit considerate and parking across peoples driveways is a major problem in many areas.
It is a problem with which the law as it stands is not properly able to cope. It therefore formed a valid contribution to this and the earlier string as installing a dropped kerb and driveway was suggested as a remedy for the original problem.
