Will the barrister strike action delay the cases where the barristers are paid privately? If so why? I realise the strike action where government pays the barristers (legal aid etc) but surely this won’t impact private cases?

If it's Crown v Joe Bloggs won't the Crown side be paid from the public purse?
maybe civil cases won't be affected

Dave yeah the case we are waiting on is a civil case. Both sides are paying for barristers privately. So I wondered if strikes will affect us …. I kinda HOPE it does tbh. For various reasons the longer it’s drawn out the better (it’s complicated)
I bet they are only striking on legal aid cases. If any private work comes up they'll be in like the blood sucking leeches they are.
It is only the criminal bar which is on strike. Your case should be fine.
