I have never watched this series but am curious as to how Alison has settled in seeing as there was an uproar about her taking over from Paul.

If you're a fan of the show - what do you think?

If you are curious why not watch an episode?

ITV issue statement as Alison Hammond's For The Love of Dogs under 'axing' threat | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV | Express.co.uk

If the threat is true I feel sorry for her, she seems to be herself in the show so why did they offer the role in the first place?

I've only seen 2 episodes...this week's and the first. She seems genuine and perfectly comfortable in the role. If anyone is comparing her to Paul...that's unfair.

Choux, it's not my opinion I'm interested in.  It's the long term fans, many of whom strongly disliked the idea of Alison taking over the show, that interests me.

Thanks, pasta.  My own opinion is that it shouldn't matter who hosts the show as long as it promotes Battersea and all rescue centres

lol, it does not appear that you are interested in my opinion either, barry1010.

Perhaps they should have offered the job to one of the many Gogglebox "stars" who have dogs, they seem to be more popular than AH.

Question Author

I haven't seen Gogglebox either, Choux.  I haven't watched anything with Alison Hammond in but I did think the heavy criticism aimed at her before she appeared on For the Love of Dogs was unfair.

Another news report today states the opposite to your link:

"Addressing suggestions that they would be terminating her role an ITV spokesperson said: "Any suggestion that conversations at decision-making level regarding the future of Alison's role on For the Love of Dogs have been held within ITV or between the production team and Battersea are entirely without foundation."

ITV, never using two words when forty will do.
