What Is A 'fiat' (Probably Spelt Wrong), As Said By The Commons Speaker Last Night, (Not An Italian Car, Lol)
Mr Burcow said that the suspension of parliament was " a Government fiat", at least that's how its pronounced! I cant find a definition of this word spelt that way, and 'feat' come back just as 'a difficult achievement' or similar. I think I know what he meant, but I would like to be sure.
