What does "Breaker Breaker" Mean?

I have heard it many a time in war films and the like in radio communication but who or what is "Breaker"? What does it mean? Sorry if this is perhaps the wrong category but i could see any that where directly relevant

In CB radio lingo it means break all chatter and listen because this is important.

A sort of 'breaking news' herald.

But I think it is also used by newcomers to a conversation wanting to 'break' in, a sort of 'excuse me', especially when they are seeking information.
*It was for relaying important information across the CB. Newcomers to a conversation always announced themselves with the phrase "On the Side" which meant they were waiting in the wings.
