Just a one off for anyone having withdrawl symptoms ! These are my own Links so you know where to direct annoyance !
I guess you just have to decide whether they are as benign as they appear. Will post solution around 9 PM tomorrow ( that's if anyone enters of course )

Merry Christmas to you all and Good Luck for 2007.

great idea, but going on my previous scores not sure if I will ever get chance to be the setter, look forward to more weeks of joining in though, and see how devious (or warped?) shamrockblue is.
cheers and merry christmas to all

Only just found the link. Thanks ShamrockBlue for the game and the idea to keep this game going.

The entries will close in just over an hour's time at 9.30pm! At that point, link words will be disclosed and honours distributed!
I'm up for it. A month at a time doing the 'setting' sounds about right, too. Excellent ifea all round.
Merry Widow

Here is my measly effort!!

Merryweather
Seasons end
Happy Feet

Yesterday morning I was as much surprised as anyone to spot ShamrockBlue's latest brainwave to keep the tradition of the Link Game alive. I quickly decided on my four predictions, but then dawdled over posting my entries (something that I would live to regret). In the meantime, wickedtongue struck with two of my selections that eventually turned out to be two of the link words (It's the early bird ...).

The Links (chosen by ShamrockBlue) are:
Merry WIDOW
FOUR Seasons
Happy ENDING
THREE Wishes

wickedtongue immediately scores FOUR points - for the first strikes at the linksTHREE and the FOUR (including two bonus points). It didn't take long before the WIDOW succumbed to the charms of sarumite - a shrewd player of proven ability. No-one had a Happy ENDING - although in one way we all had a happy ending.

The stars of the round were these two mentioned above -both scoring FOUR points.sarumite had THREE hits and ONE bonus point, whereas wickedtongue had TWO hits both attracting bonus points! Following a little behind came no fewer that ten ABers with TWO points.

Over the month of December, wickedtongue's total is raised to FIVE points to become the current leader!
Tight behind on FOUR points are Arabesque, sarumite and crofter (Oh why did I dawdle!?). Then comes four entrants on THREE points including Christiana who failed to improve on her magnifiicent score of THREE (in a single round). "Shame" was the cry!

So there it is! One more round to be set by Shamrock Blue next week - same time - same place!

Until then best wishes to wickedtongue and sarumite!
Just logged and found I'd missed it by minutes!

Still never mind Christmas Day in less than two hours Happy Christmas & a prosperous New Year to everyone.
Looks like the only prediction I got right was that I am a long way off setting the link words!!!. Thanks to ShamrockBlue and Crofter, for their efforts, especially at such a busy time! Enjoy tomorrow!
Thank you, Crofter, for all your hard work on such a busy day, and thanks too to Shamrock Blue for coming up with the idea.
I hope you and your families have a Happy and Peaceful Christmas.
" I don't believe it !! " Missed out on the elusive four timer because ShamrockBlue overlooked the Happy Hour!

How could he do that to me? It was my BANKER!! Ah well let's have another glass of something... hic.

Seriously, many thanks to both ShamrockBlue and of course crofter for resurrecting our "little diversion". ;O]

Chuckling away here at your post Sarumite, I feel like i've let you down.
Well done to all, high scoring round.
Wickedtongue star of the week.
Great work as usual crofter and unlucky at being pipped to big points by minutes.

Hope all of your Christmas wishes are fulfilled.

Just to address the point raised by Aquagility, all that the "setter" needs to do is to make a list of 16 word pairs, which will become four weeks' supply of four links! They should underline the words that will be disclosed and leave untouched the words that will need to be predicted!

These will be sent to me via a secure route (yet to be determined). In the normal course of events, the winner from the previous month will be the "setter". Should that winner decline (for whtever reason) to provide the necessary link words, then I would substitute link words sent to me by another ABer who is prepared to have their choices to be used for this purpose.

Any comments are welcome at this stage. I am just thinking out loud as it were, but I think it could work.

Perhaps, one or two of you should start to make a list of YOUR link word pairs!

PS Has anyone got an e-mail address that they have already disclosed on AB?
As I predicted a couple of weeks ago, from the heights to the depths. Zero points but lots of satisfaction in playing the game with all you lovely people. .Am about to put the turkey in the oven. Two of my three hulking sons have now arrived here in Portugal expecting to be fed (after various hitches and delays with planes) and six pairs of little eyes (my three cats) are following my every move! Merry Christmas everyone
Congratulations to wickedtongue and samurite. Once again the transatlantic 'cousins' failed to score. It's becoming a habit and habits are hard to break.
Good luck to all of you for next week.

Better late than never - have just found this, having survived Christams Day & Boxing Day feasts [and I never want to eat again - pity that won't last !!] and I hope everyone's had a wonderful time so far.
Think the link words scheme will be great [definite withdrawal symptoms] and grateful thanks to ShamrockBlue for posting and for crofter and sarumite for picking up the ball and running with it - something to look forward to Sat. evening !!!

Cheers to all S

Christmas even !!
