Been in and out watching it here in Salford,totally awesome. Just wish I'd had a videocamera to record it.

It was terrific. Given all the sky anomalies we are constantly reminded of only to have the skies cover with cloud, it was brilliant for me to see this. Strangely, I moved home recently to a town having lived the country, I'm amazed given light pollution etc.
And I had actually forgotten it was coming, my wife saw it on the news and we dashed to the windows. And worse, my grandson removed the zoom lens from my camera last week so I had no camera. He's 2 years old....the camera was actually a year older...

It was a thrill for me, too - the last time I saw a full eclipse was almost 70 years ago when on holidays on my grandparents' farm in north west NSW - now those WERE the days of clear night skies! You could reach out and shake hands with Orion and the Scorpion and find your way by the Southern Cross.
