suestone - we may be thinking along the same lines, but the spelling of the first word should only be 7 letters not 8. Is the second word something that cuts?

Hi Arabesque
I presume you're referring to 73. My neighbour gave me clues to this answer. The second word is the colour/flower.
The first word is an emperor. The answer will be found if you google the colour and the emperor and is the English spelling which is 8 letters. I am pretty confident that I have it right.
