Lots of people don't like them, especially as the drying load has to be much smaller than a stand alone dryer however I have always had them and wouldn't want anything else. I'm not up on current ranges but I've had an Ariston for about 8 years and have never had to have an engineer out once. Still works as new.

Many thanks for the info., xxx
Don't bother looking for Ariston, btw...they no longer market laundry appliances in the UK. And, don't even think about the cheap Russell Hobbs machines.....they are so bad they were "Don't Buys" in Which? tests!
^^^ Ariston is actually a brand name owned by Indesit, who continue to sell washer-dryers in the UK under the Indesit and Hotpoint brands.
There aren't really many different manufacturers of white goods. For example, the AEG and Zanussi machines in my link above are made by Electrolux.
^^^yes, quite so, Chris...but I was pointing out that the appliances do not have "Ariston" on them...in the UK, at least.
Fair point, Gingejbee ;-)
