What is the maximum load weight of a class 2 rigid LGV (18 tonne)

there is no weight plate on the wagon so i would like to know so as not to overload it....

It depends on how much the wagon itself weighs, and as you've not mentioned what make, model, body configuration or any other information such as is it fitted with a hiab or a tail lift I can't see that anyone can make even an educated guess.
If there is no plate (which is a bit of A5 laminated plastic, normally in a metal holder) displayed in the cab of the truck, it is being driven illegally. How are you supposed to know the legal weight if the bit of paper that tells you is missing?! As said by CF, without knowing its body type etc, we can't really guess, but a curtainside body on a 4 wheeler will have a payload around 10 tonnes.
Age of the HGV? How many wheel studs?
