Bit in the dark about it.
But is it now legal for medics to harvest organs?
(Unless there is a get-out clause)

I think so, Nailit, but you can carry a card stating that you have opted out (I think).
it's never been illegal, has it?

In short, one used to have to carry an organ donor card, now you have to carry a card to say that you don't want to donate organs ... I think.

For organ transplants, folk in Great Britain need to opt-out if they don't want to donate and folk in Ulster have to opt-in if they want to be a donor.
As this has been in force for some time just wonder if the problem of a shortage of organs for transplants has been solved.

And already a few deleted comments...
Would have loved to have read them,

Is there an age limit on harvesting organs?
They weren't relevant, Nailit - just a troll posting rubbish all over many different threads - presumably a mod zapped them.

My dad had a 'thing' about been burned.
So he was buried,
My Mum had a thing about been buried,
So she was burnt (cremated)

Ive got a thing about been disembowled, upon my death
for my organs
but not a thing about leaving my body to
medical science to cut me up as much as they need
post mortem!

Just as long as they are sure that I am dead...
I imagine so, bobbie, nobody in their right mind would want any of my organs. In fact I don't want them much myself.

Thanks Lady CG as well
The oldest organ donor in America was 92.....or 95 depending where you read. Pretty sure there isn't an upper age limit.
Discussing MrG's post mortem with my GP he said he would have swapped his heart for MrG's it was in such good condition...and that's what matters for a donor organ...condition.
I told my son I did not want to be an organ donor but I haven’t done a specific card Should I? I do have certain things wrong and I may be no good anyway
yes, you need to now, bobbie. You used to have to opt in, now you have to opt out.
