The wait is almost over for punters, like me, who really look forward to the Festival and 4 days of top-class racing.
Betting firms will be battling each other to give us punters the best 'offers' and, as and when i discover them, i'll post them on this thread. Hopefully, some of you will do the same.
Apart from the one i mentioned on the 'Saturday Punt' thread*, the only ones i have to hand at the moment are from SkyBet;

They are offering to refund all stakes if your horse is beaten in the FIRST race of the day (applies to all 4 days) your stake will be refunded in cash. There will, of course, be number of runner and maximum stakes rules, but that will be decided on the day.

SkyBet have also kindly forewarned punters in which races, for the first 2 days, they are offering extra places. They are as follows;

Tues; 2.50; 8/instead of 4, 4.10; 4/3, 4.50; 4/3
Wed; 2.10; 4/3, 2.50; 8/4, 4.10; 4/3, 4.50; 6/4, 5.30; 5/4

Ha! I didn't follow up on my '*'.

The offer indicated by '*' is Willy Hill going EVENS to a max £10 stake for Nicky Henderson's Constitution Hill winning the Champion Hurdle on day 1. The correct price of the horse is around 1/3.

Just placed my first bet of the Festival, taking advantage of Sky's 'money back' guarantee - a £5 win on Il Etait Temps @ 9/2. It's a bet to nothing as if it wins, i receive £27.50. If it loses, i get the fiver back:-)

Mullins has won this event 6 times and has 4 entries tomorrow. His record with horses who won the Tattersall's Ireland Novice Hurdle is 4/5. My selection won that race this year, with tomorrow's fav Facile Vega (another from the Mullins stable) underperforming back jn 5th spot. I'll most likely put the fav in the ITV7 (5 from Cheltenham, 2 from Sedgefield) and the placepot, just in case:-)

I do have £70 in free bets (14 x £5) with Sky but you cannot use free bets on this particular offer. There will be plenty of opportunities for e.w. punting with the freebees.
Three winners at Sandown at the weekend. Up on the day’s ‘investment’. I find Sky Bet’s predictor the best ‘tippster’ I’ve ever known. I rarely pick the one they predict will win, maybe 2nd or 3rd depending on the margin of the win.

Good luck, Ken!
I'm going £2 on Doctor Bravo as condition says Maximum Refund is £2.

You are correct, Unsureme. I could say i should've gone to Specsavers - but i did go to Specsavers:-(
Evening all ... just having a look at the cards myself but why is the increasingly irrelevant ITV7 going to bleedin Sedgefield when there are 7 good races at Cheltenham? Like the look of Threeunderthrufive, the more I consider it, in the 2.50.
// I find Sky Bet’s predictor the best ‘tippster’ I’ve ever known. I rarely pick the one they predict will win// sic

Haha Zax ... that must make me a close second. :))
By a head, Togo ;-)
Lol. (*_^)
He he.
After a protracted look(more a squint really) at the Festival card I have a "tentative" E/W punt sorted for 4 of the races, N/Rs permitting. I will probably "get on early" so that I can get out and walk for a while before a pint of Tim Taylors by the Erskine log fire. It doesn't seen 5 minutes since Cheltenham was hosting this wonderful occasion last, and I can't help but think how much I, and indeed all of us have been through in 12 months. Have a good one all of you.
My "ones to avoid" are ... 1.30 no10. 2.50 no5. 4.10 no3. 4.50 no9.

Many events at the festival are tricky, and the 2.50 is no exception. As per usual, i am reliant on the stats to whittle the field down, and, while i wish you all the luck in the world with the Nicholls horse, Togo, the trainer is 0 from 23 in this race. I would have been all over Monbeg Genius, but i have backed quite a few of JJ's over the last few weeks and i feel his early season form is a distant memory. Now toss a coin to see which of those two win:-/
I have settled on last year's winner, Corach Rambler, to retain the crown; 2/2 over CD, stable and jockey in form, and obviously been saved for this race. The only downside is it is currently vying for favouritism and outright favs don't have a particularly good record n the race. I do believe one or two of the others may go off as fav, so i'm sticking with Miss Russell's inmate.

What a line-up for the 4.10! Honeysuckle, Eptante, Brandy Love, Love Envoi........
I'm nailing my colours to the mast of last year's winner Marie's Rock, who overcame a 248 day absence to win this year's Relkeel here at Cheltenham by a comfortable 6l.
Question Author
The 4.50 is the 'go-to' race if you're looking for a big priced winner; since 2012, there have been an 80/1 winner. 1 x 40/1, 3 x 33/1 and 2 x 25/1 - some of those coming from top stables such as Elliott, Henderson and Nicholls.
That said, the Naas Novice Hurdle run in February has produced 3 of the last 5 winners of this race and i am siding with the winner of that race, Sir Allen.
Question Author
How weird! Having agreed with Unsureme as regards the £2 max stake for a refund in the first race, when i actually log on to my account, it does say "Max refund £5/E5 every day" ???
Can't be bothered with 'Live Chat' but i've taken a screen shot just in case i need it.

Decided to keep my main bet exclusively at Cheltenham. Also decided to place some confidence behind Et Etait Temps and throw it in both the Placepot and the '7'.

1.30; Et Etait Temps @ 5/1
2.50; Corach Rambler @ 13/2 - 8 places
4.50; Sir Allen @ 11/1 - 6 places
5.30; Mahler Mission @ 15/2

Win singles, 20p L15, £1 e.w. acca. 4 placed = £27, 4 winners = £4,384.

Used two of my free bets with Sky on;

£2.50 e.w. Glamorgan Duke @ 66/1, 2.50 (8 places)
£2.50 e.w. Ludus @ 33/1, 4.50 (6 places)

Placepot; 8-6-10-1-6-4

ITV7; above qualifiers, plus; Chase A Fortune*, Jonbon, Constitution Hill* and Marie's Rock. Both * left out of £1 e.w. acca.

Looking for a horse to go in a Trixie/Treble with Jonbon and Marie's Rock.

And, 365 are now also going EVENS on Constitution Hill, so i have thrown another tenner at it.

And i still haven't exhausted my 'bank' for 'Day One':-))

The very best of luck to all punters.

Seven pounds for a Guinness

I ask you …
Got my punt on and off for my walk, that is going to be a windy one by the looks of it. Can watch the races with a pint of Bass in hand and get back for the closing races. I have done the ITV7 although it is with a certain amount of disdain. Also done the placepot and jackpot~ at Cheltenham. Pub question ... what is the only horse to have won consecutive races at the Cheltenham festival? Kept my stakes low despite being well up this year after two very nice pay days earlier. Good luck to all you punters and all the participants.

**** E/W Acca, Trebles and Doubles. Win singles done and the free hit in the first with Skybet.

Tahmurus @11/1 1.30Ch*~
Chase a Fortune 1.50S.
Jonbon 2.10 Ch.~
Going Mobile 2.30S.
Threeunderthrufive @22/1 2.50Ch*~
Constitution Hill 3.30Ch.~
Epatante @8/1 4.10CH*~

Not in the ITV7 but in the Acca and jack/place pots.

Samuel Spade @20/1 4.10CH*~

Togo, i'm guessing the horse in question won the final race of one meeting, then the opening race the following season. Can't, for the life in me, think of the animal's name, though.

Disappointed with my selection's run in the first but happy for the young rider on the winner. His first Cheltenham Festival winner obviously meant quite a lot to him - he was having a hard time holding back the tears.

Ich; "Seven pounds for a Guinness. I ask you."

Wouldn't pay 7p for one.
Monbeg Genius in the 2:50
State Man 3:30
Honeysuckle 4:10
Jazzy Matty 4:50
Tenzing 5:30
