Okay, I get it that Lewis Hamilton is a damn good racer, I admire his honesty and integrity and would say that statistically he is the greatest F1 driver of all time regarding his incredible achievements. I have the greatest admiration and respect for him to. Now, a lot of people feel he was robbed of the championship, which, to some extent the way the race panned out, perhaps he was. But, had Lewis won [and would have subsequently gained another championship] wouldn't it have made a certain nonsense considering Max had more wins and pole positions throughout the entire 2021 season? On that score I'd say Max would have been robbed of the championship.

no, it's about points, ie consistency, race wins of course help but it's about picking up every point you can in every race.
eg Hawthorne won it in 1958 with only 1 race win. Ditto Rosberg 1982.

If wins and pole positions were what the FIA felt was needed to win the world championship, they'd structure the scoring to make it so. The scoring is the scoring.

Likewise for many sports, like football and rugby. It isn't always the team that wins the most games, or scores the most goals/tries/points, that wins the championship.
If Hamilton had won, they would have had nine wins each but he would have had more points.
