I think I may have lost the data on my memory card. Does anyone know what I can do to get them back?

I formatted the card, then took some photos & video clips. Took the card to Boots to make a disc. Put the card back in the camera & it stating that it needs formatting.
I have not formatted it for a second time.
Somebody told me that I should try a card reader?

Any ideas are most welcome...Thanks.

Don't try to reformat it or you'll never get your images back.
Try it in a card reader.
You can download some free software here that may help\you recover your images: http://download.cnet.com/Zero-Assumption-Recov ery/3000-2248_4-10061981.html
I have used it successfully once before.
However, if the camera and the PC say the card needs formatting, you may have lost everything.
If you thendo attempt to format the card (either in the camera or on PC) and it won't format, chances are the card has corrupted and that's fairly terminal.
Yep he's right above. Even if you recover the photos from that card I would bin it afterwards and get a new one, these things rarely get better.
