RoaldoM, FYI, on Thursday this person asked for best places for a honeymoon, with sturdy beds. They also asked about nightlife. See here

From that I assume they are not in their 70s !
btw, I was the one who suggested Barcelona.

While I know you will be on your honeymoon, so will spend most of the time in bed, when you do get up and go out you will find Barcelona an interesting city.
There are interesting historic areas, like Barri Gotic (Gothic Quarter), more here

There is also the Ramblas, a wide pedestrian walkway that cuts through the centre of the city, right down to the sea front. Picture here (the green is the Ramblas)

The Ramblas is full of bars, street entertainers and is a fascinating place to stroll down, more here

There is also the strange modern cathedral designed by Gaudi

There is also small "hill" in the town called Montjuic with a castle on top, and you get great views over the city

You can read about Shoping here

As you can see, Barcelona can cover whatever you feel like doing, sight seeing, shopping, nightlife, some history, lying on the beach or whatever.
btw I have no connection with the city, but I have been there a couple of times on business trips and found it a fascinating city.

How about this hotel, the Grand Marina.

Never stayed there, but it looks a great place for a honeymoon, but I bet it is not cheap !

try looking on www.tripadvisor.com or www.virtualtourist.com websites for places to see do and stay!
if you like art visit places like Casa Batillo, Parc Guell, Casa Mil also known as La Pedrera, Climb the stairs up the sagrada famillia (Gaudi's tomb is in there), all designed by Gaudi
if you like Dali visit Figueres and see the Dali Museum
(Dali's tomb is in there) not just his art on show also lots of jewellery he designed!
www.salvador-dali.org/museus/figueres/en_index.html
A trip to the town of Girona is nice reminded me of Venice
Think the tourist buses do the route of Figueres and Girona in one trip
Enjoy!

Barcelona the best city by far in Europe.
vhg has given very good advice, but dont forget to call at
mount Tibidao if you go on a city tour bus (recommended) the highest point in that area, fantastic views of all Barcelona and even go higher if you climb all the steps of the church up there,
were going back in september
enjoy
