Blood Type

My daughter has just had her first pregnancy confirmed - woop woop! They've taken her bloods and she is type D rh negative. I thought there were only 4 groups, D not being one of them, is it rare, is there anything special she should be doing/not doing? Not a medical/scientific person so answers in words of one syllable please

About 15% of the population are Rhesus D negative.
The only difference it will make to your daughter's pregnancy is that she will need an injection of Anti D immunoglobulin to prevent antibody formation.

This is routine these days and there is no need to worry.
