i have chest infection now few months , last week doctor gave me a form of antibiotic, i took them and i stupidly missed 1 days dose so the infection seems to be still here .
i forget the name of that last tablet the doctor gave me, so, i looked in my meds box today and i see a whole box of amoxicillan 500mg, im just wondering should i start taking them and finish the whole box 5 day course i think it is.

would it be harmfull or safe to do so, i could wait to see doctor again but its a pain to get an appointment or even a callback .

No this ( day's miss) should have no effect on the large scheme of things ( getting rid of the infection )
and so if it aint gone - - - you need an appt back at the GP for a further consultation.
Just carry on taking the tablets that you have found.
What more can your Dr do?
As PP said.....no harm done.
