I have just received an email dated today from NSI dated today, telling me I've won.

Woohoo!  Problem is the draws always take place on the 1st or the first working day of the month.

I always get the winners email by the 8th.

Scam or error?  It looks legit, there is the usual link to log in to my account, which I ignored.

I have logged in to my NSI account and there is nothing unusual.

I did win this month.

Seems to be

The link is to log in to the prize checker, which I have never done.

I log in to the main NSI website

We re-invest winnings so, each time we win, we get two emails; one telling us we've won and one saying they've re-invested for us. The second email sometimes takes several days (but not normally this long).

I have a prize checker app. Usually on the first working day of the month. About 4 days later I get a legit e-mail congratulating me on my prize and advising me to go to prize checker.

That's how it is for me, retro.  I always log in the day after the draw anyway, too impatient to wait for the email.

That's why I'm suspicious of this one, it's so late.

bhg, our winnings can't be re-invested, we've maxed out

Your saving your luck up for the big one, Jourdain

I have 4 premium bonds from 1957 that have never won.

Before the grammar and spelling police have a go, I intended to type "you're".

Jordain & Barry, ditto. I've had mine from  70's & no lie haven't won a penny!!

Don't click on any links sent from unsolicited sources.

I get a message from ns&I telling me when I've won something. I go to my online banking to see what's gone it.

Btw, you have to have about 30k premium bonds to make it worthwhile.

You need several thousand to win regularly.  If Barry has maxed out he must have 50k.

50K?  You know, I've always liked Barry, one of my favourite Abers.😊

I have just received one of these, fortunately I still had the orignal from NSANDI in my trash.  It is definitely a scam.  Subtle differences in the 1st bit and the following is missing:-

NS&I is backed by HM Treasury. NS&I is both a government department and an executive agency of the Chancellor of the Exchequer. Contact Office: NS&I, Sunderland SR43 2SB. NS&I acts under the authority of the Director of Savings – a role created by law to carry out the business of the National Savings Bank.

So it was legit, thanks bhg.

Always best to be wary, though.
