Mr BM took great delight over Christmas in getting Alexa to play Mariah Blummin Carey "All I want for Christmas" randomly - interrupting whatever I was listening to.

On Monday he had a total knee replacement, on Tuesday he got sent home to my care.  So now I am going to ask Alexa to randomly play songs relating to knees and surgery.

So far I have:-

Knees up Mother Brown

Doctor Doctor

When I Need you (I know, that's bad, but not as bad as "Only the Lonely" (lone knee)).

Any other suggestions? Lets have your worst, I have another week to go of this.

As a child, I used to do the dance to bow-legged chicken, it had my Dad in fits of laughter.

it is funny, Barsel.  If someone would he kind enough to post it there's a demonstration of the dance on YouTube.

//Shame she's not demonstrating the dance for us.//  There is not enough gin in the world that might encourage me to do that.

You are all stars!  This has made me laugh so much.  I'll hopefully check in later.  However, the patient has just requested a proper meal (his first one since Sunday), so I am away to the kitchen now.  (Getting him to eat properly has been the devil's own job and he has been having small snacky things little and often).

I meant it's a shame the singer isn't demonstrating the dance for us, barmaid ... but if you ever change your mind ....

Here's a knee-jerk song 😄

Omg Barmaid - I've read all these answers for you and they are just hysterical aren't they! Glad they made you laugh, and glad that Mr B is home and recovering well x

Wow, barmaid, what a selection of songs. It appears there are songs for every occasion- you just have to find them! Hope MrBMs recovery goes well. My sister had a full replacement in June last year and said the key is doing the physio.

Back in the early 90s, i was in hospital with 2 broken ribs. Every time i moved, it hurt like hell and the old guy in the bed opposite seemed to take great delight in this. On the 3rd day, he was taken to theatre and i discovered he was having one of his crown jewels removed. He was returned to the ward and when he came to, he did so hearing me whistling the tune to 'Hitler Has Only Got One Ball', while pretending to read the daily paper.

You are all v funny.

Unfortunately, he had a bad day today pain wise and it wasn't appropriate for me to muck around (if he's suffering I'm not going to add to it) and I let him sleep - despite feeling murderous at times!!

On Monday the surgeon asked for his consent to go on the Replacement Joints register. He said "is that so when Im found murdered, they can identify me?". I smiled sweetly and said silently to myself "They'll never find you, love" 😇
