A friend who has purchased a caravan on a holiday park site is being threatened with disconnection and removal of the caravan. At the heart of the issue is the fact that my friend is illiterate, inumerate and hase come under the coercive control of a person living with him who was upposed to be paying the ground rent. Can anybody advise a suitable way of sorting this short of engaging a solicitor. The fees would be prohibitive. Any advice much appreciatd.

Try the Citizens Advice Bureau.

The simple answer is to pay the outstanding ground rent.  The realistic answer is to negotiate a manageable agreement to pay the debt monthly on top of his usual ground fees.  Hopefully, the management will be co-operative
