Why aren't the Oirish putting them up in 4* hotels?

And the first one is on a flight.  The threat of going there is now real.

Of course if Europe worked with us (Many countries want to) we could stop this at source.  Maybe that will happen now?

Yep as usual UK shows Europe the way.

YMF, the one who is already on the flight volunteered to go - with £3K in his sky rocket.

Yep as usual UK shows Europe the way. - - as in concentration camps ( Boer war) and chemical gas attacks ( Great war) oo and carpet bombing of civilian populations ( Dresden and Hamburg)

we have a lot to be proud about

(Teacher hits PP who protests: "Miss miss, I only said that because TTT is  a stuck up oik!" Teacher goes ape-crazy)

Ken ,  //the one who is already on the flight volunteered to go - with £3K in his sky rocket.//

That may be true, but isn't that cheaper than paying for them to stay in a 3* hotel, with food, heating & lighting plus, 'Asylum Support of £49 per week, plus God knows what else they cost the country, indefinitely ?

A bit early for yerbutnobut isn't it?

//Ahmed Alhashimi stood on the beach, howling at the retreating waves, beating and clawing at his own chest, and surrendering to the grief and rage and guilt that would not go away.

"I could not protect her. I will never forgive myself. But the sea was the only choice I had," he sobbed.//

"The sea was the only choice I had" - WHAT!!!! They had lived safely in Belgium & Sweden for years! Totally responsible for his daughter's death. No sympathy.

Oh no! I agree with davebro3.

Khandro, yes it is cheaper, but i was merely pointing out that this guy went voluntarily, not because the government had forcibly plonked him on a plane and set course for Rwanda.

^^ good point, but a precedent is now set.

If you read the whole of the article, or got your news from additional sources, you would know that he had finally been refused leave to stay in the EU. He was going to be deported back to Iraq on the grounds that Basra is a safe place.

How about 'on the grounds that France is a safe place'?

//he had finally been refused leave to stay in the EU. He was going to be deported back to Iraq on the grounds that Basra is a safe place.//

So the UK has to accept immigrants that even Belgium & Sweden deem to be unacceptable? I should coco.
