25 years ago, I'd just be getting ready to go out. Very high heels were always part of the attire. I had some wicked shoes.

Now I am curled up on the sofa in a comfy cardy and jeans wanting to go to bed but thinking "If i go to bed now Ill be awake at four". I'm looking for shoes on the Internet. I see flats or orthopedic ones and think "oh those look comfy"!

So much for growing old disgracefully.

What are your signs you are maturing?

Socks!  Yes, I really struggle to put mine on now - why are my feet so inaccessible these days ?

Looks useful, I may well go for it soon.

What I want is a hinge in my back but God in his wisdom decided I didn't need one. Wasn't it Phyllis Diller who said nowadays her back goes out more than she does?๐Ÿ˜

Thinking of moving to a bungalow or flat with a lift.

What are your signs you are maturing?

whatever makes you think it is maturing?

I was always a bit eccentric, it sits better now I am older,  have RA but while it slows me down physically, mentally I try to keep young, I set myself a challenge to master one new skill a year, on my second this year already,  and have joined a few groups where I can have a bit of a laugh while crafting.  Also doing a bit of ad hoc teaching within those groups,  mostly on incorporating paint into needlecraft, and basic drawing skills.

I have a few good friends, have trimmed my acquaintance list so I am now only in touch with people I genuinely care about.   It would have been nicer to grow old with Redman but he would be ok with how I like my life.  I don't believe in an afterlife so better to make the best of the one I have.

Getting grumpier and grumpier as I get more and more fed up with what is happening in the world.

A couple of hundred years from now none of it will be other than history... The world may not be as we remember it being, not is it what we wish it could be but sometimes it really is a case of accepting what you can not change.

I recall my parents staying with us when we were living abroad BC, before children, and I stood up at about 11pm and said to OH I'll go and get ready.  My parents stood up and Dad said, Yes, I feel like going to bed too.   I had to explain we were getting ready to go out.

I recall Victoria Wood saying that she'd seen a pair of shoes and thought Those look comfortable, and that's when she knew she was getting old.

The unsolicited brochures and flyers I receive now mainly consist of mobilty aids, funeral plans and 'comfy leisure-wear'.

I buy shoes based on the amount of energy I will have to expend putting them on; especially as the floor is so low down. Velcro is featuring heavily in my searches....

My idea of a good night out is going to bed with a book about 10pm.

I can't tell you quite how much I enjoyed the covid-lockdown. LoL

I have been buying front fastening bras. They are much easier to put on and are more comfortable, I find.

Tilly. I find those bra's easier now I have arthritic hands๐Ÿ˜
