Watch the video, one guy actually paid to go back to France to avoid being sent there. The smugglers are moaning that their customer base is drying up..

You mean Most Flawed Answer surely gulliver. The policy hasn't been a deterrent and wont be until all the legal challenges and hand wringing stops and those who would consider making the journey by dinghy know that the planes are lined up ready to take them the moment they land here.

12:34 not in 2016 you couldn't so you are either lying about living abroad or lying voting in the referendum. My guess is the former.

13.13 TTT, Wrong again as usual. I Voted in the 2016  EU referendum without setting a foot into the UK check it out OK

TORATORATORA, this was the advice from the Government, prior to the Brexit referendum.

"To register as an overseas elector you must have been registered to vote in the UK in the last 15 years."

https://www.gov.uk/government/news/uk-expats-registered-to-vote-in-the-eu-referendum

plus also didnt people in gibraltar get to vote?

'The result saw the single biggest "Remain" vote of all the 382 voting areas with only 4% of Gibraltarian voters opting to leave on a very high turnout of 84% with large queues reported at the Polling stations.'

They had a vested local interest anticipating a poor reaction from the EU. Fortunately most of the UK were in a position to make a less biased choice based on wanting the nation to reclaim it's rightful control. It's national referendum voters that base their decision not on the national interest but their own lical interest that can mess up the best route forward.

...local...

Corby,

Previously, people who left the UK more than 15 years ago lost their right to vote.

However, this rule has now been abolished under the Election Act 2022.

Affected British citizens will now be able to register in the last constituency they were signed up in before leaving the UK.

KHANDRO, I knew about that, what is your point?

No point just a fact & showing that gulliver is correct that he can vote.

TTT @ 13.13 "not in 2016 you couldn't so you are either lying about living abroad or lying voting in the referendum"* My guess is the former.".Don't even bother apologizing TTT just remember next time you sit in the driving seat of your Jag engage gear before opening throttle OK.🤣

KHANDRO, fair enough, apologies.
