Had the netbook 6 days and thereis this free 60 day trial of office etc, does it have an outlook express type mail system? and is it worth me buying it. Silver headed old B... of 77.TIA
Microsoft Office is expensive and you probably don't need it. (It does include Outlook as its email client). Details are here:

You've not stated which operating system your netbook is running but it's likely that you could use Open Office (which is free). It includes a word processor, spreadsheet, database, drawing programs and presentations software:

For a free email client (instead of Outlook Express), simply use Thunderbird (which is out of the same stable as the wonderful Firefox browser):

Chuck has correctly pointed out (while I was typing very slowly, finding links, listening to the radio and drinking lager at the same time!) that there are lots of different editions of Microsoft Office, so my statement that it includes Outlook is not necessarily correct.
However I'm pleased (but totally unsurprised) to see that Chuck has recommended the same email program that I've done ;-)
(and adding 'File Formal Converters' from Microsoft. Then it will do everything and have Outlook.
Outlook is bulky and rather OTT for average home users tho.
OE is quicker, more simple .. and you still have a folder system.
My choice is Thunderbird : )
Only thing it lacks at the moment is the old Contacts Sidebar.
If you need a calendar .. Install the add-on 'Lightening'https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/
