Parking On Public Road

I park my car on public road between two driveways approx a car and a half in length.
I do not block either driveway and as I got to my vehicle I noticed a note on windscreen? apparently asking me to park elsewhere as they cannot park outside there house?.they have a driveway and as far as I am aware where I park is public road.
can this person make me move my vehicle even though they have a driveway?.

oh hang on, i've re-read your OP, you don't live in that street and you've just parked your car there. Are you leaving it there all day whilst you are at work?

Makes no difference Dot.. if there are no parking restrictions then it make no difference if they are a resident or not.

If it's Public parking with no restrictions anybody can park there Dot.

It makes no difference legally but there must be some issue if they have left a note. perhaps they are not used to it and feel invaded. i used to live in a terraced street fronted house which had street parking only on one side as it was narrow. if there were no cars in the street at all sometimes a van driver would pull up right in front of my window and plunge my front room into near darkness and it was very annoying! (street lamos on opposite side and so that was the correct parking side)

I can understand it being an irritation if its not your street but legally they have not 1 leg to stand on.
I can see them starting to block you in however to prove a point!

Not the case here by the sound of it though. There is a drive so not street fronted as you put it. Yours doesn't seem legal whereas the OP's does.

Why not ake some photos from different angles, check with the police and then give them a note back assuming the police are happy with your parking.

Me and my neighbour (Semi-detached houses) have drives and there's room for 2 cars in between our drives, on the front street. I don't mind when cars park outsie our house, except when some thoughtless div parks in the middle, taking up both parking spaces.
Anyway, you're doing nothing illegal, as long as you're not causing an obstruction/hazzard of any kind, so just ignore them if they tell you otherwise, 'cos as already stated on here, it's a public highway and as long as there are no parking restrictions in place, you can park there when you want and for as long as you want.

where I live there is not a space for me to park.I am a bus driver so i get home late.also it is a main road and nowhere near a junction where I park my car seems they are petty will knock at this persons house and explain that I am not blocking their driveway at all.guess they will have to put notes on lots of car windscreens?.

you should be ok to park there ok,,but why not ask the cops??,and then youll know for sure...good luck........there is a lot of numpties out there,who think they own the world!!!...lol.

no but take a photo of note on your car. Have the car valetted & give em the bill ;)
