Cardiac team have told me to limit daily fluid intake to max 2 litres in order to get severe oedema under control. I was horrified when I realised my actual daily consumption of breakfast orange juice, tea, coffee and water was hitting the max in the early afternoon and I hadn't yet had a beer or opened the wine.

If a friend of mine who is on dialysis can stick to a limit of a PINT of fluid a day, you can do it!
Question Author
I can do it Mrs_O but it's not fun.
you poor thing,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,im assuming your quite breathless ? I agree we don't realise how much we do in fact drink . good luck

Yes I am breathless anne, but don't have to struggle to the pub now.
are you allowed to suck ice. ?
Ice counts as fluid, as does fluid in meals (gravy, sauces, soup etc)
Feel for you McMouse....MrG was on dialysis for years, limited to a pint of liquid a day.
It was a treat to go to Camp Kidney for a holiday where a dialysis nurse ran the hotel with a conservatory full of machines. She would pour a pint for each patient and dialyse it straight out as they drank...but drinking a pint on a hot day was such a treat.
All the best... Gx
Chief Stout was also limited to 1 pint a day, it wasn't easy but he stuck to it.
