When we were altar boys, we wore a 'medallion' with today's date and a saltire, I think it mentioned St Andrew as well.
This was in Wales. Was it the same everywhere?

My Mum used to sing this now and then..
Just a wee deoch an doris, just a wee drop, that's all.
Just a wee deoch an doris afore ye gang awa.
There's a wee wifie waitin' in a wee but an ben.
If you can say, "It's a braw bricht moonlicht nicht",
Then yer a'richt, ye ken.
I remember that. Anecdotally, before the breathalyser, to be able to say that was a proof that you weren't drunk.
Thank you all for wishing us a happy St. Andrew's Day.
Cheers, just a small tot.
Happy days to those way, way up north ;-)
...then anither :-)
..why not :)
