About 22 yrs ago Bill's mum gave me a very tiny cup and saucer, it is bone china with hand pained gold leafs on both items, not so strange?
but when you lift the cup to the light, at the bottom is a delicate picture of a Japanese Geisha in black and white which can't be seen when the pair are laid ordinary...
any ideas about this?

The Japanese sellers used to turn Cup upside down on floor and stand on it to demonstrate how strong the China was even though it looked so fragile.
They are very colourful but not very practical for everyday use as they look best in a display Cabinet.
