i may be wrong but as an aber a good few years ago. i dont recall the editorial staff a) asking a question... b) contributing to threads. c) making a comment to abers during discussions. d) being so aware of the moderators , especially when they always agree with the " staff".............................when did this envolvement by the editorial staff change ?

I think it's much better. The trolls who used to come on used to post some terrible stuff and it was left hanging around overnight or all weekend. I am sure that did nothing for new users.

I am laughing at SpEd and the Jasmin comment though.

I like the fact that there is more interaction with the Ed team, as others have said though as long as in some debates they are impartial.
Lighter hearted topics such as favourite tunes and food, I think it's fun if they join in.

As we're on the subject so to speak.When 'one' uses the report facility who is aparty to viewing it? I only ask not as an avid 'reporter' as such but moreso a reluctant one.The 'Ed' doesnt bother me.Doing a good job in the main.You can spot a 'Spare' a mile off though.They get rid off the vile trolls and that to me has to be applauded.
So long as you are abiding by the Site Rules and crucially its an even playing field then no-one should have any complaints....sometimes I do wonder if a cyber 'spirit level' should be deployed............

What does that mean? There is only one Spare - I.e. me. I deal with all reports sent during the day.

Often the Mods will be the Eds to it - and do you know what? They're as good at spotting as we are!

IMO. the ed, spare and spare , have recently been promoted and wish to remain " friends " with all the employees, but as a manager you cant have your cake and eat it, the best managers are the ones who have the sense to remain slightly apart from the staff, and MUST remain impartial. and cant just dip in and out of threads when it suits you. ie the manager. purly hypothetical off course............i have noticed the ed ^s tend to pop up when the site is quiet, like when there is an embarrassing pause in conversation at a dinner party.
