From the scariest...now to the funniest
27 Answers
Some interesting responses to my question on the scariest film ever made a couple of days ago (and have made a note of several films to watch over the coming months...ones I've not seen before).
Last nightm whilst enjoying the last of the summer rays in Covent Garden, I brought up the question of the funniest[i films ever made.
What are they? And the rule is - if you sat down to watch them today, you should still laugh. Perhaps not as much as you did when you first saw them, but they should each produce at least five or six huge belly laughs.
My all time favourite [i]used] to be 'Airplane', followed by 'Life Of Brian', 'The Producers' (original), 'South Park: Bigger Longer Uncut', 'The Devil Wears Prada', 'Team America' and 'The Women' (original 1939 version).
However a couple of years ago, they were all superseded by 'Bridesmaids'.

The Kentucky Fried Movie
Would still be funny...... I watched this film with my mates and the scene in the alley were the puny danger seeker interrupts the gang of big black lads playing some sort of gambling game has never left me.
If you have seen The Kentucky Fried Movie....you will know what he shouts.

I love comedies, silly comedies and romantic comedies. I couldn't answer the scariest film thread because I hate horrors!
Bridesmaids
Hangover 1 & 2
Dumb and dumber
Elf
Planes, trains and automobiles
Some like it hot
National Lampoons Vacation
Happy Gilmore (and most of Adam Sandler's films)
Anchorman
and loads more.

I would wholeheartedly agree with 'Planes Trains and Automobiles', and pathetically I have to admit tat EVERY time I see that bl**dy film, I get chocked up at the end when you realise that John Candy's wife is in face dead.
Every...single...time...
Also, the 'swearing scene' at the airport car hire place, is genius.
And the race with Kevin Bacon to get the cab.
But going back to 'Bridesmaids' - I think it's virtually perfect as a comedy (the stomach bug scene in the bridal gown shop is worth the price of admission alone).

There's Something About Mary.
I resisted watching this film for years because I thought it was another chick flick (i'm a horror/thriller fan), when I was sort of trapped (post surgery) and couldn't avoid watching it I really enjoyed it, I laughed so much I injured myself. I still laugh if I watch it now.

Four Lions is another good one, the scene when he's talking about the bleach is absolute pure comedy.
