Sqad as I saw the original a couple of years ago I really don’t think they could improve on it,but I may be wrong I usually am.

It was very good - more detail, more aimed at modern audiences but I prefer the original

I didn't want to spoil my memories of the original so have given it a miss.

I thought the original was fantastic. I recorded all the TV series (Black and White). I bought the DVD (Colour) but it missed out quite a few scenes i.e the car wash etc etc. I also had a dubbed version without subtitles . That was awful.
Unfortunately I don't have Sky Atlantic so will have to wait for the DVD to be released. I bet that will have a few scenes edited out also.
I have read various mixed reviews. It has been 'sexed up' and includes a female Kriegsmarine Interpreter based at La Rochelle plus brothel scenes. Also shown is the gallant resistance's part in, I guess, sabotage in the U boat pens.

retro...exactly right.
I have now seen seven episodes of this recent edition and at first, i was really disappointed, but it gets better as it goes along and is now quite good.
The brothel scenes in La Rochelle has put a bit of meat in it (so to speak) and of course we had to have a Lesbian input.
I wont mention any more as it may well spoil it for people who haven't seen it.
