Now that JK Rowling has officially named her next book who do you think is the half-blood prince?? I initally thought it could possibly be something to do with Neville Longbottom, but have since remembered that both his parents were wizards therefore he is full blood. Anyone any suggestions as to who it could possibly be??

all of you all that say it is neville are wrong; 'cause everyone was worried that he would be a squib because "EVERYONE in his family was 'pure'" not a direct quote emphasis mine
to: "hey sexy" walk the walk you talk a.k.a. don't embarres yourself and take your own advice
my god people!! for all of you IDIOTS who think it is someone who is NOT pure HUMAN such as hagrid get this into your hard heads they are half-BREEDS NOT halfBLOOD! thank you
sorry about being rude before i was just VERY frusterated
sorry for being rude earlier i was just very frusturated. p.s. and i have been rethinking and am starting to think that it is not justin and that it is either tom morvaldo riddle or godric griffendor(might have misspelled there and soldier boy you have some very good points there
i have a idea who it could be but i don't think the prince(if there is one) would be dumbledore or else j.k.r would have mentioned it, just like she mentioned sirius in the 1st book
did any1 think about mundungus fletcher besides me? he was mentioned briefly in CoS and the became an important character like sirius did.
when i say tom morvaldo riddle i mean jr. not the one that died in goblet of fire
First of all, J.K said that it was just a coincidence about Mark Evans. Even though I still sort of think that he might have something to do with Harry, but I don't think he's the HBP. It would be too much if he all of the sudden became really important in the 6 book when he was only mentioned in the 5 once. I think it might be Hagrid, Dumbledore, or some new character. IDK. But I wonder who the new DADA professor is going to be? What if it was Tonks? (Just a thought. I don't think it would be)
Hey, maybe its Colin Creevy? could be. or his brother.
any way, i don't no as much as alot of English, but thats my guess.
After looking at JKR's website she clearly stated that the second book did not follow with the title "The Half Blood Prince" and hence, she pushed the information relevant to that into the 6th book. Then if you read her write-up on Dean Thomas in the "Edits" section she had his whole history prepared about being brought up by muggle mother and step-father after his father left. The secret of the father's was that he was a wizard and refused to be a deatheater. Thus, it is plausible that becuase she edited this part and she hints to stuff from the 2nd that will now be in the 6th, Dean is the half-blood prince. (Also, Dean was sort of cut from the British version and kept in the US version and he was kept int he movie-perhaps for later use?!)
Rubeus Hagrid My guess would be that he is the half blood prince, because of his giant mother and wizard father.
THE PRINCE IS NOT MARK EVANS!!! Rowling herself said on her official site that she is sorry to say Mark Evans is a nobody. So, that rolls out Harry, voldemort, and Mark.
I think it is Dudley Dursley...His Aunt was a witch therefore he could have wizard blood in him. And as we all know .. he is treated like a prince.
i agree, i never thought about it but hagrid might be it. but im thinking its an entirly new person. for example, tom riddle was new in chamber of secrets, sirius black and lupin in prisonar of azkaban, cedric and mad eye in book 4 and luna in book 5
let me just say that just because JK has said that ther half blood prince is neither harry or voldemort doesnt mean it isnt. think about, jk said something small in the 2nd book will be something big in the 6th book. will i think the fact thats dobby said that the chamber of secrets had nothing to do with voldemort is the hint. i think that the half blood prince is tom riddle
can i please have a clue what is in the paper clip section of www.jkrowling.com? i've found the clue in the phone, the key, the pen and the coffee mug..... am going crazy!!!!! please help!
I beleive it to be Hagrid since he was a major character in the second book which the six is supposed to be highly related too and also he is a half blood. Everyone is assuming that the half-blood means half wizard half muggle, but Hagrid is a half blood as well, half Wizard, half Giant. And, lest we forget, his mother was the Queen of Giants so he is already bestowed the role of prince upon him. That is why I beleive Hagrid to be the half-blood prince.
she never said there would be only 7 books!
