What is the name/who is the auther of this book?

I'm just going off what my mother told me. The story's about a man who slowly turns into a vampire, but isn't sure why! He links it back to when he fell and cut himself and after further investigation, realises it was on a witch's grave.

The story's told from his point of view and his struggle for denial, then acceptance.
