Hi Everyone. To cut a long story very short, my Lakeland x Border was born with no socket for his hip bone..

This was found out after several trips to the vets resulting in me demanding an x-ray. This showed the severity of the problem. They operated on him and basically created a sling out of muscle to hold the leg in place and stop the bone on bone contact.
This was back in October, he recovered quickly and uses the leg as normal although he will always have a limp.
Just recently the leg has become more stiff. We have eased up on his exercise ( 1 hour walks instead of 2-3 hours) but there has been no improvement.
Can anyone recommend a supplement that I could give him? I used to use cod liver oil years ago but maybe now there is something better on the market. I did go to crufts this year and I got a free sample of some Joint Aid but this does not agree with him.
If there is no improvement I will take him to the vet for a check up.

Look on any of the online vet chemist sites such as Hyperdrug, Canine Chemist, Pet Dispensary - they all have several different medications available. You could also try a Bioflow collar which often helps joint stiffness.
i agree with lankeela our gsd was on a human dose of glucosamin chroditon and msm it helped her no end she also had a bioflow collar . http://www.agestop.net/Agestop/index.aspx we buy the super flex 3 this was as recommended by our vet its far more concentrated then the pet ones ,our beagle has half a tablet a day the gsd used to have 2 so would think a half would be about right for your little dog hope this helps , you could also try him with some solivtax R&A for dogs good luck
