Ive been prescribed anal diazapan to relax me before intercourse due to past problems, do you think this is a good idea?

Yes, medicine inserted anally works quicker, and was the most popular method of taking meds here 30yrs ago, until the we lot wanted oral meds!

As a child I had to keep some in the fridge in case my daughter had seizures.
I know its totally unrelated but its just to reassure you that it does have many uses and I am 100% sure that it would be very effective in relaxing you and your muscles.

I believe continental types often used to take pills anally till they became more prissy, Brit-fashion; as neti says. They're supposed to work quicker that way; but it's still just diazepam and should relax you.

Cos I'd misread it as anal dilatation / anal dilation and had a 'proper' answer all prepared, trying to avoid my usual patter. Just after I had put pen to paper, so to speak, I read the question again & realised my mistake, so had to erase my part-answer.

I have a habit of saying sorry, even when I shouldn't need be. Sorry. :-)

Rectal administration of drugs was and still is in Paediatrics as iti is a reliable way of getting the drugs into the system and as no said was common on the Continent.

It has nothing to do with "us" being prissy, it is to do with the fact that the rectal route of absorption is much slower than taking them by mouth.

However, in the case of Diazepam it is absorbed rectally as quickly as orally.
