Hope it's settled now! If it is something like gallstones then the sooner you get seen to the sooner you get a scan appointment through and, if gallstones, can decide on a plan forwards such as scheduling for surgery and get advice in the meantime such as pain relief, diet (very low fat, small meals etc...).
Mine just got worse and worse when I started having attacks, by the time I had the ultrasound in November to confirm and my GP rang to let me know the result and told me the symptoms to look out as warning signs (dark wee, light poo) I was already having them and ended up very unwell and in A&E with acute cholecystitis and 5 nights in the emergency surgery unit and suffered a lot before having my gallbladder out in March.
If you get a bad attack then get help for it - I know just how excruciating they can be. I was chatting to a lady in with me last November and she said after a previous experience she had phoned an ambulance and got brought in quick, straight through on pain relief (the think you suck in) and morphine.
I phoned the out of hours docs when my friend came round and found me in a state on the sofa, had another friend come to drive us to the hospital (desparately hoping I wouldn't throw up again in his posh car!), saw the out of hours doc who sent me through to A&E waiting room before going into A&E after a while then up to emergency surgery unit and being there a while before the doctor came round and sorted pain relief and such. It was maybe not the best way to go about things!
