dizzy spells
Recently I have been suffering from dizzy spells, when I lie down to go to bed the room starts spinning, the other night it was like a movie stuck in the spool, flickering up and down. It also happens when I get up fast. i also have a numb patch at the top of my right leg which i put down to a trapped nerve but now i think the two could be related. Has anyone else suffered from this? Any suggestions of what it could be would be great thank you.

But angel I was thinking of Multiple Sclerosos. It took years and years for them to diagnose that but when the neuro and my GP got going they diagnosed it within 4 months but by then I was already 48. I hope it isn't that. What is ENT?
That's what I have a horrible feeling it is too but think they're a bit confused cos of the ear & hearing probs as well but am wondering if that part is just a wekness I've picked up genetically.
Will just have to wait and see what neuro says. Struggling a bit at the moment, had a really bad patch then had been on quite a good one but it's reared it's ugly head again. Very off balance and a bit battered and bruised in the process.
Goodness knows what people must think of me, walk like I'm drunk (and probably look it when my eyes are funny and I get double vision and such) and look like i've been battered!
My whole left side went weak a few weeks ago (could even feel, if not see, a drop on left side of my face) and have lost the use of my legs for shortish period as as few times now which was when they referred me to neuro.
Am finding I don't bounce back as well in the inbetween stages the more it goes on. It's like my body has some strange, how can we **** her off today, surprise evil lottery and I find the inconsistency frustrating.
My emotional side is suffering too, not sure if it's connected, but find I can be horribly down for no reason but then stupidly happy for no reason, even when the opposite should be so. Very wierd!
Be good to keep in contact :)
Hey guys thank you so much for your concern and thank you for sharing your experience. I havent been back to the doctors yet because he said to give it a few weeks. (An inner ear infection could last that long) I feel fine other than the symptoms I have already told you about. I will let you know if anything changes and I will go back to my doctor more informed thanks to your help. Thanks again pixie xxx
Angel I am really sorry to hear that and I think I can safely say I know how bad you're feeling. When do you see the neurologist? Have you had an MRI?
Look for some reason, I'm having a problem reading this thread right in My Profile. I'll start a new thread in Body & Soul and call it - what, think think! Something like MS symptoms and you can update me on that. I was often laughed at by friends for being drunk as I'd fall all over the place and drop things. Luckily my husband is much more thoughtful today. I'm sad as you are young, I have been lucky in as much as it didn't become apparent until late, I'm 50 this month. If that is your problem you need all the support you can get. I'll also give the link to the MS net line which is full of good info.
Please keep in touch.
I have posted a thread angel, the reference is http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Body-and-Soul/Question121897.html
pixiewize you seem more rested within yourself and I am very pleased about that. Continue to assert yourself in front of the GP. I'm not saying to be aggressive but to let him know that you're 'suffering' (mentally and/or physically) and you'd like to know WHAT can be done to alleviate the discomfort(s).
