Feeling Proud

I did something I never thought I'd ever have to do - with the help of my dad and another neighbour and another Lorry Driver. I'm terrified of lorries of all shapes and sizes but between us we managed to reverse guide an articulated lorry out of our street and back onto the main road and on his way. Our street is very VERY narrow with bollards and a curve, but we did it. I was so scared as I was at the front of the lorry and dad at the back and then had to get to the back to help stop traffic.
The driver was Polish I believe so there was a lot of pointing and nodding and hand gestures but I've never been so proud. I was sitting watching tv when I saw the poor driver struggling so headed out to see if he needed help which he did.
Any other good deeds done today?

Aww no not again DT :( I'll stick to sales lol - this chap came from County Durham!
Must have done Tony - he was heading for Livingston which is about 35 miles further west from here! Lord knows how he ended up here.

Well, a sort of good deed. I tramped around the village giving out leaflets regarding a big fund-raising event. Took me ages because it was Sunday afternoon so people were at home and I stopped and chatted. This was good in the end - my doorbell is ringing with people donating tombola prizes - you all know....Gt. Aunt Ursula's gift of talcum powder last Xmas for example.

It all counts. We are trying to raise over £15K to install a loo at our church. It's complicated 'cos there is no sewerage and the church is surrounded by graveyard. This means a long drop before we can install a septic tank. Thought you'd all be ecstatic to know that. :) x

Every little helps though Jourdain2! But it is a good deed. Without help these things don't happen. But well done and fingers crossed you get what you need.

Fed a neighbour whose family have swanned off on holiday, although I suspect he deserves the praise for actually eating the stuff.

Thank you Petal, I know it's shocking how unhelpful some people are. When we were helping the lorry - man came into the street and I said 'you'll need to move' he said 'can't you get the lorry to move forward so I can get in and he can get past' I said 'it's taken 10 minutes to get him to where he is so no i can't and if you get hit or bumped or scratched or lose your wing mirror don't blame us' but the good outweighed the bad this afternoon, and his car his fine.
