At the moment i am reading an interesting book about the battle of Trafalgar. It describes in detail how events were and how the battle unfolded. What event and why would you like to go back in time to witness ?.

I find myself drawn to historical events where I know my family were present, I like to try and understand what they went through. I'd like to see Trafalgar where a relative captained a ship. But equally I'd settle for the execution of Mary Queen on Scots at Fotheringhay or the english in India in the early 1800s.

Michelangelo painting the Sistine Chapel.

I'd probably need a flask and some sandwiches.
The execution of Charles I.
I will pass thankyou
Jesus’ crucifixion - but I’d want a front row seat so that I could see what really happened.
I'd like to go way, way back and witness the earth when dinasours ruled, as long as I could come straight back safely that is !
I'd like to go to the Great Exhibition please, its just opening in the Crystal Palace, May 1851. What a wonderful opportunity to see things from all around the world and to marvel at the fabulous building.
Commonwealth Sports Moments #1: Roger Bannister beats John Landy in the "Miracle Mile" at Vancouver 1954

Near the end, Landy had a look to see if he had done enough to hold off Bannister. Off the last bend, he glanced inside to look behind - at the same moment that Bannister came past on the outside. "I saw him glance inwards over his opposite shoulder," Bannister wrote in The First Four Minutes. "This tiny act of his held great significance and gave me confidence."

A magical moment.
I have a real hatred for and fear of snakes. I'd go back in time to the hill and give St. Patrick a big hug for ridding us of them.

As he was on a forty day fast at the time I'd take him a sandwich and a pint of Guinness too.
That's a nice one, Sqad. A sporting one for me would be rowing and most likely 2000 Sydney Olympics coxless four for GB. Would love to see and experience that one again.
At the Sydney Olympics I would like to watch the battle between Ben Ainslie and Robery Scheidt of Brazil that happened before they crossed the start line, Ainslie managed to delay Scheidt's start long enough to ensure he finished far enough down the fleet to give Ainslie the gold.
Queen Victoria's wedding day.

I guess you've eaten at The Talbot then, Barmaid and seen the beautiful staircase Mary walked down to her execution and where her ghost still walks? :-)
if anyone is interested in fictionalised acounts of historical happening, i can highly reccommend jodi taylor's "one damned thing after another" series Amazon.co.uk User Recommendation
I'd like to go back to the time Burnley actually won a home match :-/
// the english in India in the early 1800s.//

The nabobs (*) didnt have a bad life - Jos in Vanity Fair is one. (1847)

(*) yeah yeah yeah - who nabob den etc etc
Yes, Gness, been to the Talbot many times. There is something quite special about Fotheringhay though - the church is absolutely magnificent. The village very pretty, the castle mound quite thought provoking and the Falcon quite hospitable!!
Agree with everything you say about Fotheringhay. BM!
Following on from naomi 17.23 -the Resurrection and in particular when Jesus appeared to Doubting Thomas. Between the pair of us we could then establish a truth - or not, of course.
