On your head, about 2 centimetres per month if you are lucky. In other places it is slower. Your hair seems to be programmed to a maximum length, and whilst it is dead tissue, there is some mechanism that causes each hair to drop out when it reaches a certain length. This, of course is different for say head hair, beard hair, and under-arm hair.
If you have a friend who dyes their hair you could carry out an experiment with a ruler between root sessions.
There is a popular belief that hair length can be promoted by a hundred or more brush strokes per day. I think this just prevents you from seeing the dropped out ones all at once so you get the impression that the hair is thicker and therefore longer than it would have been otherwise.
